Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 is the eleventh game in the PES franchise. Although PES 2012 offers fewer major changes from the previous game, there are quite a number of smaller and better improvements in terms of the game's artificial intelligence, speed, animation, and physics. The Teammate Control System feature allows control of a secondary player in any part of the game. Controlled secondary players are most helpful when in Manual and Assisted versions to manage more difficult gameplay and controls. The referee aspect has been improved and has full implementation of the advantage rule. Also, the "catch-up" bug present in the previous PES games will be addressed in this iteration.
