The Nikon S1000pj was the world's first camera with a built-in projector to quickly share photos with groups of friends.

It launched in 2009 at a price over $400 and was still selling for $320 or more in March 2010. The first time was spotted a S1000pj deal around $200 was in late August.

Just so you know, there is a newer version called the Nikon S1100pj that came out this August. The main feature upgrades are a 14.1-megapixel resolution (the S1000pj is 12MP) and a 3-inch Touch Screen (the S1000pj does not have a touch screen). Amazon just dropped the Nikon S1000pj camera with projector by another $20. Cheapest ever, and now $46 lower than the next best price online: $175.

What a difference a year makes. This Nikon S1000pj, the first camera with a built-in projector, was launched in 2009 at over $400. Now only $149 this week at Amazon. Next cheapest is $199 from Walmart.com. And the new version (Nikon S1100pj w/ touch screen) is over $300.

This Nikon S1000pj digital camera with a built-in projector seems pretty cool for quickly sharing travel photos or funny videos right up on a white wall, without hassling with downloading files to a computer or hooking up to a TV or monitor. And finally it's cheap enough to consider. Lowest price ever this Tuesday and Weds at Newegg. A year ago it sold for over $400.
