Check out LG's product page for the 55LV4400. Its smaller sibling the LG 42LV4400 has been an Amazon bestseller for a while. This is a very straight-forward set with no Internet connectivity, but if you want to save some money and not pay twice for that feature, just be sure to get a Blu-ray player made in the last year, and it'll probably have the streaming services you want.

Lowest price we've seen on the LG 55LV4400 55-inch LED set in 5 months, and $133 off the next best price. Mostly very good reviews. Sound is supposedly mediocre, but hopefully you'll get at least a sub-$200 home theater-in-a-box to accompany a 55-inch HDTV. No Smart TV, but if you have a Blu-ray player made in the last couple years, you're probably set already.

Hmm looks like Amazon did away with the 47LV4400 hence the reviews are gone. I've removed the link for now pending a replacement for more resources. Replaced with the 47LV5500 & 47LS5700.

This LG 42LV4400 Edge-lit LED HDTV is a relatively no-frills set, but you'll be getting your money's worth. While it doesn't offer WiFi or Ethernet content streaming, you'll be able to listen to music, watch a wide variety of compressed videos, and look at pictures from a portable USB drive. LG's TruMotion 120Hz refresh rate makes sports and fast-action look smoother, and it's got a matte screen to reduce problems with reflections. An extensive Amazon review states that this set "is capable of producing an excellent picture that will rival any mid-range TV" and recommends the set to "anyone trying to get the best picture for the least amount of money."

If you've bought a Blu-ray player in the past year, you can probably already access Netflix and a host of other streaming content. So why pay a premium to get the same feature twice? If you're looking for a good deal on a relatively large screen, give the 42LV4400 serious consideration.

Best price we've seen so far on the LG 42LV4400 42-inch LED HDTV and $259 less than the next best price. Nice mid-range set if you don't need Smart TV integrated. (Personally I'd rather get a cheaper external product that has streaming functionality so if a service changes I can be up to date for around a hundred bucks rather than get a whole new TV set.)

thanks I've expired the deal. strangely the 42-inch 42LV4400 one is now quite expensive... prices are all above the $600 mark, making it close/as expensive as the bigger 47-inch 47LV4400 model. Craz.

I bought this tv not knowing what to expect in the mist of having placed the order for it i read a lot of reviews and before recieving it i was nervous as to if i would end up sending it back to wal mart ! Out of the box and connected directly to the cable didn't impress me at all it looked blurry and i had to do sonme adjusting then but then i plugged it in to the home theatre dvd and i was surprised . All in all this is a TV that lives up to all it's other reviewes that you can read on it and everone else will tell you up front that this is a mid range set that you will most appreciate it after using it the way it was intended to be used like with a Hi Def cable service provider or Blue Ray through the HDMI connection on the back of the set . I would recommend this set to anyone that t wants to use it like for the bedroom but as a primary set where you will be entertaing guests and watching all your home movies and a blue ray i would recommend a Smart Tv . But as far as my Lg i wouldnt return it for anything this is my first flat screen of this calibur and i wouldnt return it even if you tried to pay me . Happy viewing .... Since Black Friday, Amazon has been oscillating the price on this LG 42LV4400 between $500 and $510. Right now it's at $500. Before Black Friday, this TV ran more in the $600+ range. It's not a fancy TV, but reviewers praise picture quality, and it does well with fast motion thanks to the 120Hz refresh rate. In gaming mode, it's 10-15ms behind, which isn't too bad.
