Brand new sexy HP Envy 15 is a "Return of the Jedi" sort of computer. Out of production and discontinued? I think not! Check out more sexy pictures of this new machine. The helpful hands-on overview of the Envy 15 and Envy 17 at the Verge is also a good read for people needing more info on the new HP laptop. Hot damn, IPS panel confirmed by HP blogger for the 1080p Radiance display upgrade. SSD upgrade is also an Intel 320 series SSD.

Nice price drop on the sleek looking 15.6-inch HP Envy 15 laptop. Newest coupon code knocks $450 bucks off the price which is $45 more savings than the usual Envy 15 coupon code and makes this laptop the lowest price ever by $5. Also this week HP upgraded the base configurations processor for Core i5-2430M to Core i5-2450M (about 100MHz faster). So, yes... HP upgraded the laptop and dropped the price to an all time low. No complaints here.

You sure this is the XT version? I thought 15 was standard and 17 XT.

Refreshed and re-released Envy 15 is now under $1,000 again for the base configuration with a new HP Envy 15 coupon code that takes $405 off basic config price. Add in another $70 and you'll get a quad-core i7, or if your budget allows for it, the $150 sexy Radiance Full HD 1080p display upgrade.

Refreshed Envy 15 with 7690M GPU, quad-core i7-2670QM and plenty of RAM is back at lowest ever price thanks to 33% HP coupon. Best bet is to use this 33% coupon and scale up to the 1080p display option, giving you additional savings.

If you missed the release day discount on the refreshed HP Envy 15 (now available again after being discontinued for over a year), then you can snag up this laptop for cheap again. The new Envy 15 coupon makes it $135 cheaper than last week's sale price.

Are we sure that it's a Radeon 7690M? When you build it, all it says is "1GB Discrete Graphics AMD Radeon(TM)" without specifying the model..

Yup pretty sure. HP hasn't changed the language yet but they've confirmed it on their blog on the 7690M XT. It's also confirmed in other documentation on their non-English website. They basically were embargoed from mentioning it by AMD until AMD announce the "new" 7000 series (which are just some samples of rebranded 6000 series).

Hot on the heels behind the new Envy 17 is the return of the HP Envy 15, now with an optical drive ;) Similar specs to the Envy 17 with quad-core option, slightly cheaper on the wallet (also lighter on the heft too). You can also upgrade to the very slick full 1920 x 1080 resolution display for another $150.

Does anybody know the benchmarks for the Radeon 7690M? I heard that AMD just renamed some of their older mobile cards for the 7000M series.

Yup its the 6000 series (unfortunately). Expect performance similar to the fast/mid-range 6770M. They havent released core and memory speed but I'd expect it to be faster than the 6770M's. At the very least faster memory. Check the bench here for an idea: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-Radeon-HD-6770M.43955.0.html
