One of Dell's most popular ultrathin high-end laptop a few years ago (in the Core 2 Duo generation), the Adamo was popular amongst Windows users who wanted a thin but powerful (or as powerful as you can get) computer. All Adamo came with the high-end ULV or SL processors, where the key performance win is the high-end 128GB solid disk drive, which significantly helps boot up time (but also rises the price of the Adamo considerably).
From the intial price tag of around $1,400, the Adamo was eventually lowered to prices of around $799 to $800 (the lowest of which we saw was around mid/low $700s). Of course, that was just about half a year ago back in late 2010 as Dell was phasing out the Core 2 Duo equipped Adamo. The Adamo was so popular that it spawned similar and cheaper offerings such as the Vostro V13 / Vostro V130 small business laptop.
Will there be an eventual Adamo sucessor? Its fairly safe to say Dell won't give up the ultrathin/ultraportable market, and all current news points to the XPS 15z as a potential sucessor, but time will tell if Dell will bring back the Adamo name onto a laptop you can brag about to the Apple fanboys.
