Here's a great budget-conscious choice if you finally want to make the move towards SSD but don't have the money. This fast Crucial M4 delivers great speed even at the 64GB capacity size. Read/write of 415 MB/s and 95 MB/s makes it a very competitive offering vs other low-price SSDs such as the Intel 310 series.

The Crucial M4 (Micron C400) is the successor to the C300 we saw last year and was one of the first few 6Gbps SSD available. Price ranges heavily for the M4, going from mid $100s to almost as much as $1,000 for the high-end, 512GB model.

The prices on the Crucial M4 line are falling like crazy - but because SSD makers are engaging in a price war, not because of any flaws in the drives themselves. Very stable, fast, and now an absolute bargain. This was $50 more less than a week ago. If this drive were $200 a couple months ago, I probably would've sprung for it over the 128GB version I got...although that model was only $110 a few days ago as well...

Lowest price ever on this 256GB Crucial M4 SSD and $43 off the next best price. I just got the 128GB model from this line, and so far it's offered admirable performance, even over a SATA II interface. The M4 line also gets high marks for reliability from most measures, as the overwhelming 5-star reviews evince.

Yesterday the price fell by $15 on this Crucial M4 128GB SSD. Today it fell by another $15, making it the lowest price ever by $15 and also $15 off the next best price. Don't wait for another $15 drop, though...this is a really sweet deal if you're looking for a fast, reliable SSD. I bought mine for $40 more than this just over two months ago and don't regret it for a moment for that higher price.

Disadvantages of working with a deal site...constant retrospective regret. (I got this last week for $150. :/ ) That aside, it was a no-brainer purchase at $150. So at barely more than a dollar a gigabyte...if you need a proven reliable, fast SATA III-compatible SSD, this is an excellent option.

Not a ridiculous discount off next best price ($20), but the 512MB version of the Crucial M4 is at its lowest price every by $50. Reliable, relatively fast SATA III SSD using the Marvell controller.

If you need a huge SSD for video editing or similar tasks where disk transfer rate is important, check this Crucial M4 512GB SSD out. I've had the 128GB model from the same line for a couple weeks now, and it's been nothing but stellar. (I read hundreds of overwhelmingly reviews before buying mine, so I'll throw that behind this drive as well.)

Lowest price ever on the 128GB Crucial M4 SSD + transfer kit by $18. Couldn't be simpler to upgrade this way - make a cloned image of your existing laptop drive, transfer it, swap the drive out, and press the power button. You won't need to buy an external enclosure, and you won't be buying anything more than the bare minimum of what you'll need to get the job done. Fairly fast, very reliable drive (several months and counting with no BSoD for me). Next best price is $17 more.

Tie with the lowest price ever on this 128GB Crucial M4 - $14 less than the current next best price. I've had this drive in my MBP for about a month now, and it's still working beautifully. With a reputation for reliability and ~5 star average reviews anywhere you check, this was a no-brainer for me when it cost $10 more WITHOUT the transfer kit. This has everything you need to clone, swap, and boot in a flash...no pun intended.
