Cheap iPad Deals
- Apple just slashed their prices on all their original iPad models thanks to the announcement of the new iPad 2. The iPad 2 is being released in March 11, if you can find it available, and March 25th in other select countries (mostly western ones).
Apple Store has refurbished 3G iPads right now for $50 their new list prices (so about $350 for the Wifi 16GB). If you don't need 3G, you'll save money by buying the WiFi-only models mentioned below.
Beyond the discount chains above, the only sure place to get the iPad is at the Apple Store and the only official price you'll see is from the price list below:
| Apple iPad Normal Pricing Table |
|
16GB | 32GB | 64GB |
| Wifi |
$399 |
$499 |
$599 |
| WiFi + 3G |
$529 |
$629 |
$729 |
Based on the price table above, the cheapest iPad is the 16 GB, WiFi model for $499. While the most expensive iPad is the 64GB 3G model, at a cool tune of $829. Don't forget sales tax and possibly recycling fee of around $5-12, depending on your state.
The price may seem steep, but consider this, the only sure-bet way to get an iPad without being ripped-off or scammed is from to buy directly from the Apple Store (online or offline).
Or, if you're on a budget, wait a while until the prices fall. And they will, perhaps 10 percent or more in only a month or two and after the holiday seasons (as the new iPad 2 is rumored to be released sometime in first quarter of 2011). Case in point, check out the latest iPod Touch deals... much cheaper at third party authorized retailers than directly from the Apple Store.
The iPad is also in limited stock available at your local Best Buy, Walmart, and Target stores. Check their store locator or online store to see if an iPad is in stock for your particular region. Be warned though, if you live in a large metropolitan area, it is very likely your local Best Buy may carry more of a limited stock of iPads, especially the 3G models.
About the Apple iPad
Released last year amidst all the speculations and rumors. Apple started shipping the iPad with WiFi connectivity starting April 3rd, 2010.
Available in two versions, WiFi and WiFi+3G, the WiFi iPad has already been shipping for a couple weeks. The iPad with WiFi+3G is slated to ship in early May. Each version will be available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB SSD hard drive configurations.
Weighing in at 1.5 pounds and 0.5-inches thick, a lucky few (and apparently very weak) who have held an iPad commented that it still feels surprisingly heavy.
The most noticeable feature? Its speed. Reports are consistent that the iPad is super fast. This has led to speculation of future competitions between people's fingers and their iPads. Which is faster?
AT&T 3G data service will be provided through pre-paid plans for the WiFi+3G iPad. Prices are much cheaper than equivalent cell phone plans with $14.99/month for 250MB and $29.99/month for unlimited data. The iPad is "unlocked", but will only work on AT&T's 3G network. Sigh.
All existing iPhone applications will run on the iPad, including any already purchased on an iPhone or iPod Touch. A new iPhone/iPad SDK released on January 27th allows developers to take advantage of the iPad's latest features.
As always check back here for the cheapest of cheap deals that we can find on Apple's iPad because we'll be posting them!

First decent discount we've seen on the iPad 2. A new 16GB Wifi iPad 2 is normally $499 at the Apple Store. If you go refurb in this case you'll save $49. The next best refurbished iPad 2 online is $490.
