Assassin's Creed II is one of the highest rated video games of the past year. A must buy for any third person action-adventure fan. The game even earned a Metacritic rating of 91 putting it alongside games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Mass Effect 2, and Forza Motorsport 3.
Set in Renaissance-era Italy you play the role of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, an Italian nobleman turned assassin after the murder of his father and brothers. This being 15th century Italy, Assassin's Creed II has you wielding weapons created by none other than Leonardo da Vinci.
If you like Grand Theft Auto, HitMan, Prince of Persia, or Metal Gear Solid 4, this game is for you.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is about to be released next week on the PS3 and Xbox 360, if you still haven't gotten around to playing II yet, GoGamer has the PC version on sale for a very cheap price (the PS3 version is relatively cheap too). Pacing of the game can get a bit long, but if the story in Assassin's Creed got you hanging by the seat of your pants, grabbing the sequel should be a no-brainer.
